This tour is for those who want to escape the city and the cars and see a more quiet and isolated part of our region. From the Wellington Waterfront we take a scenic open aired ferry across the harbour to Days Bay- a township that is close to Wellington but far enough away to hold it’s own relaxed holiday feeling. We follow the coast on a mix of quiet roads and cycle paths to the start of the dirt road that leads to Pencarrow. Free from traffic we can go fast or slow, keeping an eye out for seals lounging on the rocks. We pass NZ’s first permanent lighthouse and leave the water’s edge to use our electric bikes to climb past Kohangapiri Lake to the upper lighthouse. The views from here are will end up in your photo album.
