Parking close to Switched On Bikes
Switched On Bikes is centrally located on the waterfront and only a short walk away from the Wellington iSite centre and Te Papa Museum. If you need to drive, the best place to park is the Te Papa Museum car park. From here it is a short walk along the waterfront to our store (see our map above).

We will pick you up near the port. When you disembark, follow the signs to the Independent Tour Operator Pick Up Area. It’s about a 500m walk from your ship.

At the end of your tour, we encourage you to stay in the capital city and explore more of what Wellington has to offer. Consider bringing what you need to enjoy the rest of your day in the capital city. You can leave your backpack at our store while you are riding. Our store is centrally located, only a 5 min walk from Te Papa, New Zealand’s national Museum and the Wellington iSite. Local shopping is within walking distance. We will provide you with a city map to enjoy the rest of your day. This ship is within walking distance of the central city and our store.
If you prefer to go straight back to the ship, our guides will ride with you back to the original collection point.
Rental Customers Arriving by Cruise Ship
Please make your own way to our store. You can either walk or take the ship operated shuttle bus.
Shuttle Bus to the City (recommended)
Take the port operated Shuttle Bus into the city and walk to our store from there. Your ship may charge for this service. From the shuttle stop, our store is a 10-12 min walk.
Walk to our store
It’s a 35min walk to our store. Just follow the waterfront until you reach our store. The waterfront is a highlight of Wellington and an interesting walk.
Ride Share (Uber and Didi operate in Wellington)
To order a car, you’ll need to leave the port. Walk about 5-6min to where they can safely stop to pick you up. It’ll cost $10-$20 NZD and take 5-10min. They’ll drop you off at 22 Herd St. Enter our store from the waterfront side of that building.
