At a discounted rate, take home one of our quality eBikes for your personal and commuting needs on this subsidised programme! How it works

1. You select your bike from our range
2. Sign up for 12 weeks or more at just $16/week. The first four weeks is up-front.
3. Select a pickup time to pick up from our Wellington Waterfront location
4. Meet us and we’ll fit you to a bike and set you up for riding with a lock, charger, helmet and rear carrier pack
5. Start commuting by eBike!

Please make sure you bring in your valid Community Services Card. We’ll also need a credit/debit card to store in our system for security reasons and we’ll need to know your address to.

We have optional extras to add on including gel seat covers, phone holders and kids seats for the back of the bike. Note these are an additional cost.

FAQs

What happens if the bike is damaged or stolen?

If that happens, let us know as soon as possible so we can do what we can to help. With our included insurance, you’re covered for theft, but you’re responsible for damage.  The excess you need to pay is $500.  There are some conditions, in particular, the bike is locked with the folding lock that we give you and is kept inside locked overnight. Do the bikes need to be charged?

Yes, it’s super easy. Just plug it in like your phone. The bikes come with a charger. If you don’t have a power-point where you bike is being parked you can remove the battery and bring it inside to charge. Handy huh?

How Payment Works

Upon booking

When you book, you pay the first four weeks bike hire in advance or you can choose to pay for the minimum 12 weeks of rental- there are no when paying this way. This payment is fully refundable for any reason until you take the bike away.

Recurring Card Payment

For future payments, we automatically charge your card that is stored in our system every four weeks- this is our standard method.

Will I be stranded if my battery runs out?

Nope, you can always pedal it like a regular bike! Plus, the battery life is surprisingly good and there are charge level indicators. It’s unlikely to be an issue unless you are doing really big rides or several large Wellington hills in a single session. Most riders can ride at least 60km before needing to charge.

Do I need insurance?

For this special Community Services Card Discount, theft insurance is included but you’re responsible for damage. To be covered the bike must be locked with the lock we give you and kept inside overnight. The excess you need to pay if using our insurance is $500.

I want to swap my bike for a different now one is that ok?

Yes, it is. Each rider can swap once for free, and after that for $50 each swap. We usually need to do some preparation to swap a bike, so give us a call to arrange it beforehand. If you’ve already swapped once and would like to swap again but aren’t sure if you’ll like the new bike, you can do a free test ride before committing.

Flat tire, or some other issue, and I’m stuck on the side of the road. What do I do?

Firstly, we make sure all our bikes have great tires for this exact reason. It makes punctures rare. Secondly, don’t panic. Give us a call. If you’re in Wellington City or Lower Hutt- and you can’t get the bike to our workshop- we can come to do a mobile repair, usually we can be there the same day. If you’re on the road and can’t move the bike, call us then you can lock the bike up and take a taxi, then we’ll collect the bike as soon as we’re able. This isn’t a 24hr service, but please still contact us out of hours and we’ll work out a solution together!

I love this! Can I buy the bike I’ve been riding? 

At any point during the subscription, you can request to purchase the bike which is when we will make you an offer.  The offer would be formulated by (RRP+ repairs completed – 90% of your lease service payments. The minimum amount to pay for transfer to ownership is $500).
