La Boca Loca

This fantastic organic mexican restaurant isn’t just one of the best places in the area to satisfy your hunger, it also happens to be a perfect bike ride to make the most of your day. Starting from Switched on Bikes on the Wellington Waterfront you can bike along the beautiful Oriental Parade and continue onwards with the ocean by your side and the wind in your hair (remember that you can just click the power up if there is a head-wind!).

The Botanist

The Botanist is one of the newer restaurants in Wellington offering the tastiest in vegetarian and vegan food. They boast views looking to Lyall Bay and provide a variety of Wellington’s best beers and their menu is appealing whether you’re vegetarian or not. The fabulous ride around the bays will be pleasantly interrupted by a real treat for the tastebuds with dishes like lentil, mushroom & ale pie or a satisfy a brunch hunger with ‘The Meat Pretender’. Lyall Bay is an amazing ride out of the city where you can experience the sun, sand and surf all in one go.

Spruce Goose

Also located in the beautiful beach front of Lyall Bay, Spruce Goose is a great cafe with killer coffee and an even better view. Located a stone’s throw from the best dog-spotting beach in town and with views of planes taking off and landing from Wellington’s airport, it’s one of the best places around to spend an afternoon relaxing. After a bite to eat you can unlock your bikes from the racks right outside and continue your ride around the beautiful coastline to experience the endless ocean views at Island bay or head back via Miramar Peninsula. An excellent afternoon ride with family or friends.

A La Carless: Visa WOAP by eBike

Organised by Frocks on Bikes,  A La Carless is guided evening electric bike ride of Wellington’s food scene.  Although this event currently sold out, there’s a rumour there’ll be a second night of tickets being released, so keep an eye on the official  VWOAP page or the Frocks on Bikes Facebook page
